2 Thessalonians and What's Coming Up Easter Week

This Sunday we are covering the end of 2 Thessalonians 2 and the beginning of chapter 3. Our journey through this book will be finishing the week following Easter Sunday.

As for this coming week, we will be gathering for an informal time of worship and communion in a home setting Good Friday evening. Please contact for address and directions if you miss the announcement this Sunday.

NEXT Sunday, we will be celebrating the resurrection of Jesus with several special happenings, from the music to the children's church and in the message as well. We hope you will plan your other activities around the service, as we spend time centering our attention on the most pivotal event in spiritual/world history, the history of the church and our own Christian lives!

Journey through the Bible: 2 Thessalonians

Last Sunday we began our brief trek through Second Thessalonians. As short as this epistle is, it is jam-packed with truth about the coming of Jesus and things concerning the end times. The letter was written to encourage the church in the hope of heaven; something it is still doing today!

1 Thessalonians 5, part 1

The times we live in are uncertain and morally dim. How are we to live in this dark world? The first part of chapter 5 addresses this subject head on. Another encouragement from 1 Thessalonians as we consider the soon return of Jesus for His church.

1 Thessalonians 4, part 2

"I'll fly away! O, glory!" The words of the old spiritual may be familiar. Christians have a hope beyond the grave that is based on one of the central tenets of our faith: the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. This Sunday we will be covering this comforting passage in 1 Thessalonians 4. Don't miss it!

1 Thessalonians 4

So many people would like to know what God wants for their lives. Questions like, "What should I do?", "What is God's will for my life?", "Where should I work?" and similar thoughts arise in the heart of every Christian at many points in their faith journey with the Lord. We also regularly face questions on morality and ethics as we live in an ever-shifting culture. This chapter addresses several of these issues clearly, exhorting us to live on the higher plane of God's call. His Word is such a faithful guide for our path! Come this Sunday prepared to be blessed by the unfailing counsel found in the fourth chapter of Thessalonians.

Increasing Love

"And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you..." ~1 Thessalonians 3:12

We can often feel so limited in our ability to love. Our love is so fickle, so fleeting, so connected with our feelings and circumstances, as well as the actions and attitude of the one who is the object of this love, whether by our choice or God's command. Loving each other, and "all" (all people, everywhere) is impossible. We are limited as humans in our ability to love. But with God all things are possible, and this verse reminds us that it is the LORD who causes the increase in love, for other Christians and for all people. Let's let HIM bring about this increase and overflow from our lives with His awesome power!
