Beginning in January for the Ladies' Fellowship

We have been blessed by a couple other churches with resources to do this Bible study in the book of Genesis in 2015 for the Ladies' Fellowship! One church gave us workbooks, and another is willing to lend us their DVDs for the video portion. What a gift!

If you'd like to participate, there is a sign-up sheet in the back of the chapel before and after every service. You can sign up for this once per month gathering, as well as bringing pastries or muffins and fruit for the month of your choosing.

Our first meeting will be Saturday, January 17th at 9:15 a.m. Don't miss this amazing opportunity to grow closer to the Lord and your sisters in Christ through this study!

Christmas Week schedule

Through the month of December we are continuing our study through the book of Second Corinthians. However, for Christmas Week itself we will have a few special events. See the schedule below, and plan to join us in celebrating and meditating on the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, our Redeemer.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON
Join us for our weekly service in the chapel at St. Timothy's Anglican on Sunday with some special features in the main teaching and from our children's church.

TUESDAY EVENING
We will be meeting in Churchill Square and going out in pairs or small groups to minister love and hope to the often forgotten among us. Please dress warmly.

Ways to participate if you can't join us for this outreach due to work:

* BAKE a batch of cookies or other goodies
(we can pick up Monday all day or Tuesday before 2pm)

*WRITE a thoughtful, personal Christ-centered letter or card from yourself or family
(duplicate 3-5 copies and bring Sunday or arrange pick-up)

WEDNESDAY EVENING
We will be gathering together in northeast Edmonton for a home fellowship with potluck-style dinner, Christmas carols, a devotional meditation and fellowship. Sign up for what to bring at the back of the chapel following services this Sunday and next.

We're looking forward to these times together during Christmas week as a church family and hope you will be BLESSED!

Two Years in Edmonton

The Bible is full of examples of remembering and reflecting on events of the beginnings of things. From Creation to Passover, the entry to the Promised Land and even harvest, God's people are directed and encouraged to recall their origins. We must never forget that God is the source of all blessing.

This Sunday we are marking the close of our second year of ministering in Edmonton. It's our anniversary, you could say. Our first "service" was November 11, 2012, a little over one week after our arrival in Alberta. We began in chapter 1 of the Gospel of John in a living room in a Sherwood Park home with one family, and we've been meeting every week since, moving through the New Testament chapter by chapter, and by God's grace, our fellowship has grown.

We are blessed to have a church family and a church "home away from home" here in Edmonton with all of you who join us for worship, fellowship and learning the Word. We are also thankful to the congregation at St. Timothy's for allowing us to share their building and for the privilege of simply ministering God's Word here in Edmonton. He has truly shown us His good hand of grace!

Giving Thanks Always

This weekend a lot of people are looking forward to an extra day off from work and some harvest-time feasting. It is Thanksgiving according to the calendar. Sadly, many don't value even this government-sanctioned day because they are viewing it as only that, or even worse, a day to endure strained family relations. Many others are just too busy to stop and even gather together.

It's ironic that the affluence in the society can manifest such indifference to the source of its abundance. The LORD warned His people when they entered the Promised Land to be careful not to forget Him in the face of abundance and blessing (Deuteronomy 6:10-15)

We who are in Christ and in this blessed land have more than double reason to be thankful, because of our material provision, but also for "every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ" (Ephesians 1:3)!

As we gather this Thanksgiving Sunday, we will be joining together in accordance with the admonition from Paul, to be "giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ..." (Ephesians 5:20).

Come out and give thanks!!

Communion This Sunday, August 3rd

We have been commanded by our Lord to share together in remembering His suffering and death for us. Our fellowship does this through partaking of communion, or the Lord's Supper, the first Sunday of every month. This Sunday we will be covering chapter 13 in our journey through the book of 1 Corinthians. Come ready to reflect and remember the matchless love of our great God and Savior!
