Colossians 4

There are so many situations in which people make comments and we have a choice to stay silent or respond. Should we take it to prayer or thoughtfully answer? This is part of ministering in daily life. How can we make the most of each opportunity for Christ? Chapter 4 of Colossians is so encouraging in this area. Come out as we wrap up this epistle this Sunday.

Powerful Practicalities

We have gained a clearer understanding in Colossians of who Jesus is and what He has done for us. Now, for our response. The Bible doesn't mince words; it is so straightforward, practical AND powerful. God would never ask what He will not empower us to do by His grace. Come out for verse-by-verse in Colossians chapter 3.

Jesus Nailed It

In our study through Colossians we encounter this powerful truth in chapter 2: that Jesus nailed to His cross all our debts and wrongs. They have been blotted out and are no longer a standard we are judged by. We are covered in His perfection and righteousness! Join us Sunday for our journey in the New Testament book of Colossians.

Journey Through the Bible: Colossians

We are approaching the close of our third year of ministry in Edmonton. What an amazing milestone to be coming to! In November 2012 we began in the Gospel of John, and here we are ready to begin the epistle to the Colossians. It has been an incredible journey together through this section of the New Testament; we have all experienced the Lord faithfully at work in our hearts by the power of His living Word.

Join us this Sunday for the introduction to the book of Colossians, a letter written by Paul the apostle to a church he didn't plant himself but one on his heart. We will discover in it the sufficiency and supremacy of Jesus Christ above all else--all philosophy, knowledge, religion--and we will be encouraged to live on earth with the hope and mindset of heaven.

Guest Team and Pastor this Weekend

We are blessed to have a team here from Calvary Chapel in Whitefish, Montana this weekend! The group is in Edmonton to learn a bit about our city, pray for and with a us, and to see how they may become more involved in the future. It is always so encouraging to meet other like-minded Christians from churches near and far. God gives us such an instant connection with each other in Christ.

Pastor David Halan will also be teaching this Sunday as our guest pastor-teacher. He and his wife Angela moved to Whitefish
7 1/2 years ago so David could pastor there. He has been a great blessing in encouraging the work of this church plant in Edmonton for several years and has a heart for missions. You can listen to his preaching on the media tab at our website.

Sunday, June 14th

We are blessed to be having our first church baptism this Sunday! Following the service, we will be heading to the courtyard for this special occasion in the lives of our brothers and sister. After the baptism, we'll be sharing a meal and fellowship together.

There will be a baby dedication during the service this Sunday as well. We do not practice infant baptism, but we do recognize that as Hannah dedicated her son Samuel to the LORD, and as Jesus blessed the little children who were brought to Him by their parents, that we offer our children in prayer for God's blessing and work in their lives from their earliest days.

We will also be having a guest teacher, Pastor Jeff Fadness from Calvary Chapel Pocatello, Idaho.

Jeff and his wife Christina were missionaries with their children in western Russia for 13 years where they planted a church before moving to Idaho in 2004.

Pastor Jeff has a passion for evangelism and missions in the local church. We know you'll be blessed by what he has to share with us from God's Word.

Easter Weekend 2015

Join us April 3rd and 5th for two very special worship services as we remember the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. We look forward to celebrating His triumph over sin and death with the church around the world!

Journey Through the Bible: Ephesians

We are continuing our journey through the New Testament this Sunday as we begin with the apostle Paul's letter to the Ephesians. This six-chapter book is rich in many ways for the Christian, and we will explore what it has to say concerning our position as believers in Jesus Christ: from God's perspective, man's perspective, and in the spiritual realm. Join us this Sunday for an introduction to this book and be ready to be blessed by God's unfailing Word!

P.S. If you were unable to join us last Sunday and the message by Pastor David Mercer of Calvary Chapel Flathead Valley, you can find it on the church website in the Media section by clicking HERE.

Journey Through the Bible: Galatians

This Sunday we will be embarking on a new study through Paul's epistle to the Galatians. This crucial book explains why we need to hold fast to the truth of the Gospel in order to maintain our freedom in Christ. Any diversions or perversions will lead us out of freedom and into bondage of some sort. We're looking forward to making our way through this New Testament letter and know you'll be blessed!
